[Introduction]
“Kageki Shojo!!” is a youth sports and musical manga series created by Kumiko Saiki, serialized in Hakusensha’s “MELODY” magazine. The series has reached a cumulative total of 1.7 million copies (print + digital) across 13 volumes of the original comics (continuing) (Published under the “Hana to Yume Comics Special” label).
Set in the Kouka Opera Music School, which aims to nurture talent for the “Kouka Opera Troupe” composed entirely of women, the story revolves around the 10th generation of students, known as the “100th period,” as they wholeheartedly strive and grapple with conflicts in pursuit of becoming future stars.
From July to September 2021, the series was adapted into a TV anime with a total of 13 episodes. The cast included Sayaka Sembongi as Sarasa Watanabe, a tall and spirited girl who admires “Lord Oscar,” Yumiri Hanamori as Ai Narata, a former nationally famous idol who is indifferent to everything, and other talented voice actors such as Sumire Uesaka, You Taichi, Rico Sasaki, Risae Matsuda, Satsumi Matsuda, Kana Hanazawa, Mikako Komatsu, Junichi Suwabe, Hiroki Nanami, Norio Wakamoto, and more.
The anime received high praise not only from fans of the original work but also from anime enthusiasts, thanks to the combined talents of the voice actors, the music composed by Tsuneyoshi Saito, who had previously worked on songs for the Takarazuka Revue, and the high-quality animation.

A passionate journey towards becoming future stars, a dazzling stage awaits them – the “Youthful Sports Opera Story” of these opera girls!
Founded in the Taisho era, the “Kouka Opera Troupe,” created exclusively by unmarried women, enchants people’s hearts across generations with its beautiful and glamorous performances. The 100th generation of students has just entered the “Kouka Opera Music School,” having successfully passed through the high competition.
Sarasa Watanabe, a lively and star-like girl who idolizes “Lord Oscar.”
Ai Narata, a former nationally famous idol who is indifferent to dreams and friends alike.
Sawa Sugimoto, the class president and a hardcore Kouka fan who aced the entrance exam.
