Here it comes my first cover of a song by J-Pop diva Ayumi Hamasaki. It took me very long to do one, her songs are not so simple to sing, I think it’s because of her vocal range, which is so pitchy (at least in her early career). I tried many others (“TO BE”, “M”, “SURREAL”, to name just a few), but this one was the most acceptable of them all… To be honest, I’m not that satisfied with it, but I was so wanting to share a new cover here, and I was feeling it had to be an ayu song, for two main reasons: 1) I’m all about her recently (I just finished watching the dorama based on her early life, so nostalgia hitted me hard and I’m listening to all her discography for days), and 2) I have already published two covers of Utada, so Ayumi has to be here as well (’cause, well, I’m a fan of hers too). “appears” is a song that I really love, from an iconic album that I also love a lot – and which is pretty famous. So, as always, hope you enjoy my humble and not-that-good attempt to make a decent tribute to ayu.
