Tony Fernandes: Demand defies fuel spikes, still better than Covid-19 grounding

AirAsia continues to see strong flight demand despite rising fuel costs affecting airlines globally.

Capital A Bhd chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said the situation is still far better than during Covid-19 when flights were grounded.

He said demand is even higher now as more people are staying within the region rather than flying to Europe and beyond.

The strong demand allows the airline to absorb rising costs, though fares will need to increase slightly.
