[２４日 ロイター] – トランプ米政権は、株式取得と金融支援で米レアアース（希土類）企業のＵＳＡレアアース(USAR.O), opens new tabに対する１６億ドルの投資を計画している。関係者２人が明らかにした。
政府がＵＳＡレアアースの１０％株式を取得する計画で、融資のほか、民間からの１０億ドルの資金調達も２６日に発表される見通し。同社は２６日朝に投資家投資家との電話会議を開き、条件について話し合う予定だという。
ホワイトハウスはロイターのコメント要請に応じなかった。ＵＳＡレアアースはコメントを拒否している。
ＵＳＡレアアースはテキサス州シエラブランカでテキサス・ミネラル・リソーシズ(TMRC.PK), opens new tabと共同で鉱山を開発しており、２０２８年の稼働開始を予定している。また、オクラホマ州スティルウォーターに磁石製造施設を保有しており、今年後半の稼働開始が見込まれている。
