Guilty Gear Dual Rulers Be Like
i am really into the story of Guilty Gear so when they announced the new Guilty Gear anime I was pretty excited and I thought that the Guilty Gear anime had a lot of potential especially considering the story modes are just 4-hour cutscenes it’s kind of hard for me to be particularly critical about this show i was just super giddy while watching it and I’m not much of a critic plus I think that the strength of Guilty Gear story is always laid within its characters and I think for the most part it does that pretty well every character at least has one moment that makes me smile at this show even if all the characters aren’t utilized for the forest like Johnny and Biken are just here to look cool and help out sometimes kai and Dizzy spend most of their time being a cute couple and being stuck in a giant crystal i’m kind of surprised that Dizzy didn’t end up in her strive at all in the show ram and L mostly just sit around but they do do some stuff like when Lelo government base and gets hit with an orbital strike and lives jacko is here uh she holds a gun and asks you saul takes a backseat in the show mostly for S and Unico because his story is pretty much done at this point he’s pretty much been relegated to a side character which is good because his story is done and he got his happy ending i like how they focus more on his intelligence here with him not having the flame of corruption anymore the main sides of the show are Sin and Unica sin takes much more of a main protagonist role here and he really goes through it in this show and I think he’s really good i don’t really know what to say about him he’s he’s just good i love him i love how they go over the fact that he has the power to control Gears and how he uses it to help people instead of what Justice did during the Crusades unkah is also a really cool character i think she has a lot of potential and it wasn’t exactly realized to the fullest she also feels like a bit of a rehash of the Valentine we have the girl that is also a weapon of destruction turned into a good guy by Sin Kish like three and a half times and you got Kaio with Dizzy so you can kind of count it as four and a half times don’t get me wrong I do like her and I think that giving Sin a younger sister is pretty cool and I think her backstory is also pretty cool with her being from the future i will say though her inclusion in Strive is kind of baffling like she does not do any of this in the show and she has had all this development offscreen you know what’s cool though her dynamic with Bridget speaking of which when I saw that Bridget was going to be in the show and that she’d have a relatively important role enough to be on the poster anyway I was pretty excited because she’s like one of my favorite characters ever she doesn’t have too active of a role in this shot but she’s still really important to Uni’s development which is really good and I especially like the part where she gives a speech about finding her shape that was beautiful that was really nice although I’m annoyed with how hard she gets shed she doesn’t appear in all the episodes which is fair enough because this is Sin and Unica’s story but she gets put on life support as soon as she’s about to get involved in the main plot just to motivate Unica like I really wanted to see more of her i really love this character but it’s okay hey I guess cuz we did get to see her butt ass naked and I’m also disappointed she didn’t show up the kind Dizzy’s wedding i guess she was in the hospital or whatever like could they put her in bandages or something or make it take place sometime after what happened in the finale and she has all this new dialogue with Uni i guess that’s cool and Roger do something there are a few characters that pop up here and there but one of the more prominent ones to me was Axel he had his ending in Strive where he had control of his powers and he was reunited with his girlfriend in his own timeline but here he is at the end of the world chained up by this guy like how did he even get here i thought he could control his powers now i thought his story was finished they just needed something to happen because they got rid of their only two time travelers he just shows up at the end too with no explanation this show does have quite a few flaws like when they want snakes and it’s like oh no so you have to kill Sin and then he shoots him and it’s like oh he’s fine because it burnt through all of his magic or something which this being a guilty gear story you know it’s going to be very expositiony especially when Vernon and Leo start skyping each other you know it’s about to get happy like a lot of episodes will have a recap from either what happened the previous episode or just the history of the series in general you know what though the animation is really good and the action scenes are really cool they have a couple stuff from the games too which I noticed which made me go “Yippee.” The character models also look really nice this show kind of feels like Dice Kid playing with these action figures and I kind of love it to be fair that’s what a lot of these stories are like you know I also think that they might have grabbed all the most popular characters from the games and just put them in the show it’s not a bad thing of all these characters but most of the characters in this post are DLC so like oo you want to buy Guild Gri Blazing Edition with all this said I still love this show the strength of Guilty Gear story has always been of these characters like I said I cannot actively say I dislike any of these characters pretty much all of them resonate with me in some way or another i look forward to what more story content is coming up for Guilty Game or whatever series like this series is one of my favorite things ever i think this series really needs to clean up its law a bit everything before Overture anyway like these games the stories are kind of stupid and absurd and incohesive and they do not fit in with what Guilty Gear is now i would love to see all of the side characters at the stories explored properly like so many of these characters just develop offcreen i don’t know if this is a bit much to ask for but I just love to see more from all these characters and have the stories properly explored i go make a manga or something i’ll make like a little anthology series or something exploring all these guys anyway that’s all now bye-bye [Music]
