The former Atlanta Braves 1st round draft pick Carter Stewart Jr began his pro baseball career in Japan, signing a six year contract with the SoftBank Hawks in 2019. After spending the previous two years in the Hawks farm system, he was promoted to the 1st team on April 16th, 2021 and made his NPB debut the following day.
