This was inspired by a true story. Legend has it that he was towering over everyone and had incredible strength. The ruler didn’t believe he was black and sent servants to scrub his skin. He ends up living in Japan and holds a high position no other foreigner had at that time. When Yasuke was heading to Nobunagas palace, people would trample over each other. They couldn’t believe that someone could be so tall and dark.
Seeing this great historical figure becoming an anime protagonist is surely a treat. Where Yasuke’s real history ends, this anime starts. I can’t wait for this.
