After many years this Japanese release remains the only HD Blu-ray physical release of 24 Seasons 1-6 and ‘Redemption’, they can be bought as a set Season 1 – Legacy, or separate individual seasons. The set is Region A locked, so fine for the USA, but in the UK, Europe and Australia you will need a Region Free or Region A Blu-ray player.
The Blu-ray can easily be played in English without the Japanese subtitles and also contains the English subtitles. The picture quality on the Blu-rays looks fantastic and is much better than the DVDs, Night and Day differences, and so are very much worth it if you want 24 in the highest quality, I have read some saying that these either don’t look better than the DVDs or that they are just upscales, this is clearly not the case, they have been completely remastered in 1080p HD and look incredible. However, if you are a fan of 24, it is unlikely to entirely replace your DVD Boxset as t contains no Bonus Features of any kind, this includes Audio Commentaries, the set also doesn’t have the Extended episodes, instead all are the regular cut down 43-45 minute episodes.
