Rino Sakuragi (Yuna Taira) is a high school student and is good friends with classmate Ren Kiritani (Alan Shirahama). They have been close since their middle school days but Rino holds special feelings for Ren that she has been unable to express to him due to his popularity. One day, Ren confesses his love to Rino. They begin dating, but Rino is diagnosed with ALS.
