Googleは、画像生成・編集モデル「Gemini Nano Banana 2.1」を一般提供した。Gemini APIのほか、Geminiアプリ、Google検索のAIモード、Google AI Studio、Flow、Stitch、Google Ads、Gemini Enterprise Platformなどで順次展開する。
Gemini APIで「gemini-nano-banana-2.1」として利用でき、1K、2K、4Kの画像生成に対応する。従来モデル「Nano Banana 2(Gemini 3.1 Flash Image)」から、画質やプロンプトへの追従性、文字の描画、複数回の編集におけるキャラクターの一貫性などを改善した。
Nano Banana 2.1は、Flashクラスの処理速度と費用対効果を維持しながら、画像生成・編集性能を高めたモデル。2Kと4Kでは、1:4、4:1、1:8、8:1のワイド・パノラマ画像にも対応し、従来発生していたタイリングによる画像の乱れを改善した。
APIの画像出力料金は100万トークンあたり30ドルで、Nano Banana 2の60ドルから半額になった。一方、テキストや画像、動画の入力料金は100万トークンあたり1.5ドルで、Nano Banana 2の0.50ドルから値上げ。テキストと思考の出力料金も3ドルから7.50ドルに上がる。画像の出力料金は従来モデルの半額となる。
複数の画像を組み合わせるマルチ画像融合では、最大14枚の参照画像を利用できる。最大4人のキャラクターの一貫性と、最大10個のオブジェクトの忠実性を維持した画像生成・編集に対応する。テキストレンダリングやインフォグラフィックのレイアウト精度も向上した。Google 検索とGoogle 画像検索によるグラウンディングにも対応する。
従来の「gemini-3.1-flash-image」は非推奨となり、10月29日に提供を終了する。GoogleはNano Banana 2.1への移行を案内している。
