[ワシントン ９日 ロイター] – トランプ米大統領がメディア大手ワーナー・ブラザース・ディスカバリー（ＷＢＤ）(WBD.O), opens new tabを巡る買収争奪戦の最中に、米動画大手ネットフリックス(NFLX.O), opens new tabとワーナー・ブラザースの債券を購入していたことが分かった。先週、２月２７日付の政府の開示情報がオンラインで発表された。
開示情報によると、トランプ氏は昨年１２月１２日と１６日の２回の取引でネットフリックス社債計５０万ドル以上を購入。今年１月２日と２０日にさらに計６０万ドル以上を購入した。合計購入額は１１０万ドル超から２２５万ドルまでの範囲とされる。ワーナー社債についても、昨年１２月１２日と１６日の２回で計５０万ドル超から１００万ドルまでの範囲で購入した。
ネットフリックスによる買収合意が発表された後、トランプ氏や規制当局は、反トラスト法（独占禁止法）の審査に耐えられるかどうか疑問視する姿勢を示すなどしており、関係企業への投資が倫理上の懸念を引き起こす可能性がある。
ワーナー・ブラザースを巡っては、ネットフリックスによる買収合意が昨年１２月５日に発表され、その後メディア大手パラマウント・スカイダンス(PSKY.O), opens new tabとの争奪戦が展開された。
今年２月下旬にネットフリックスは買収提案を取り下げたが、トランプ氏が債券を売却したかどうかや、損益状況は開示されていない。
米大統領は、行政に携わる関係者が政府と取引のある企業への投資を禁じる利益相反に関する法律の対象外。トランプ氏は子供らが管理する信託を通じて債券購入したとみられる。ホワイトハウスのケリー報道官は「トランプ氏の資産は子供たちが管理する信託にある。利益相反はない」と主張した。
トランプ氏は以前、１０億ドル超の資産を保有していると報告していた。
