秋田県大仙市出身。小6で楽天Jr入り、秀光中で全国準V。仙台育英高で1年春からベンチ入りし、甲子園でも登板経験を重ね、早くから世代の中心を歩き続けてきた右腕。
早稲田大学進学後は1年春からリーグ戦登板。3年春にエースナンバーを背負い、同年春の明大戦でノーヒットノーランを達成。チームをリーグ3連覇へ導いた。 大学通算19勝3敗、防御率1.89。全国大会でも粘り強い投球を見せ、国際大会では日米大学野球の開幕投手も務めるなど、経験・実績ともに豊富。試合運びの上手さ、状況判断力、勝負強さが際立つ。
最速152km/hの伸びのあるストレートに加え、縦横の変化を自在に操る多彩な変化球が武器。左打者にはチェンジアップ、右打者にはスプリットを効果的に使い、打者を翻弄する。

Akita Prefecture. Joined the Rakuten Junior Team in sixth grade and led Shuko Junior High to a national runner-up finish. At Sendai Ikuei High School, he earned a roster spot as a freshman and made appearances at Koshien, emerging early as one of his generation’s most polished right-handers.
At Waseda University, Ito debuted in league play as a freshman and became the team’s ace by his junior spring. That same season, he threw a no-hitter against Meiji University and guided Waseda to three consecutive league championships.
He finished his collegiate career with a 19–3 record and a 1.89 ERA, displaying remarkable consistency and mental toughness. On the national stage, he proved his poise under pressure, and internationally, he started the opening game of the Japan–U.S. Collegiate Baseball Series, contributing to Japan’s overall victory.
Ito features a lively fastball topping out at 94 mph, complemented by a diverse mix of breaking and off-speed pitches. His changeup neutralizes left-handed hitters, while his splitter is highly effective against right-handers.
