「二重変異」のCOVID-19変異株は感染力と致死性がより強い:米国専門家
and we know that that strain is significantly more contagious than the original strain uh and we also know that it is more deadly and uh other strains as well throughout the country these uh novel strains uh some of them are still able to be neutralized by the vaccine in fact the majority are still able to be neutralized by the vaccine but the concern is that they have a greater degree of ability to spread through the community and we still don’t have a high enough percentage of our population vaccinated yet so there’s still the potential for ongoing spread and even increased levels of spread and it’s highly likely that we will continue to see novel strains of this virus that’s just uh the function of the virus so it’s very hard to predict the next four to eight weeks but with businesses opening up more broadly and people traveling more uh and with the uh increased variance penetrating our area there’s still a lot of concern that we can see an uptick in cases over the next month or two um you know it’ll take a while before we get to the point of herd immunity which is having probably 75 to 80 percent of our population be immunologically protected to some extent and that immunologic protection could be secondary to receiving vaccine or from having prior infection um but the rate at which we get there is going to be dependent upon the supply and the ongoing rollout as well as the the ability of our communities to obtain vaccine you
