Looking at: Guilty Gear Dual Rulers anime
Bridget is naked. That’s Bridget the opening title, but that’s still the script of the well the title the script. So, uh yeah, Guilty Gear Dual Rulers. This anime is kind of a mixed bag. So, I have a bit to talk about. So, spoilers because yeah, I never understood spoiler-free reviews cuz I don’t know. It just at that point you just watch it or don’t watch it. Oh well, the enemy story is about Uni. It’s like she’s saying Gear is bad and she wants to kill them. I won’t cover the story fully, but I’ll just cover some things in the story that happened. The story is kind of like a guilty gear story mode, which is a double-edged sword because it’s one entertaining and fun sometimes, but it’s not much is explained, just a lot happening sometimes also. So, just kind of convoluted. Guilty Gear has a lot of lore and characters. So getting to the series is not easiest. It’s not the easiest, but in my opinion, the anime won’t be like the most newcomer friendly thing in the first place, but it solves a lot of things and I try to explain it and it’s pretty self-contained, all things. So maybe you’ll enjoy it if you’re new to Guilty Gear. Though we can’t be denied this series is kind of meant to appeal to Guilty Care nerds and not like newer fans. They have like Dr. Paradine here. He first appeared in If you know what game you appeared in, then you’re the target audience for who this anime is for. This show has a lot of character interactions and hype moments in Nora and stuff like that. And a lot of non-fans are probably just going to see this stuff and be confused or not really care as much. But some fans are gonna be like really happy when they see Johnny do something. So, you know, so I don’t really think the series is going to capture the attention of people who don’t like Guilty Gear or make them get Guilty Gear and play it. And for fans, it might make them happy and they’ll see this average Guilty Gear story and fun character interactions, but I don’t think it’s going to like impact the world. Anyways, time for the designs. I think unic is actually a pretty cool design. I am pretty used to get some hate because uh add Jam. I’m kidding. I actually like gem. But I think this design is pretty cool. It’s like chill but so cool with the other characters. So, Uno is cool as a design. Her character is fine to me, too. It’s Bramthal, but again, not kind of fine with that. She’s a little bit awkward, but it’s fine. It’s like silly and stuff. I didn’t expect to like Unika, but her character kind of grew me as the show continued and stuff. Also, I think her and Bridget are dating or something. I don’t know. Also, that kind of is segue into my next part. There’s some things in the game that are just kind of never explained like the Thunder Seal and Dizzy’s tail and also this is hair. So, it’s just kind of confusing because like that wasn’t in the anime. The whole point in it was to introduce Unico, but they just made up their own lore. And Nerville, he’s an okay design. Not villain worthy, but okay. And Villain Nerville is a cool design. It’s a cool human design. And also the weird alien nerve. And it’s kind of like Arakun, but not as cool as Araun. I think the English one Arachnne. I just like art. I don’t know. Whatever. At the time of writing this and probably publishing it, he’s not in the game as a character. I don’t know if he ever will be in the game. I kind of think that if he had more flare, I’d be happy with him in the game, but it just doesn’t really. So maybe he’ll be in the game one day. It guilty kind of does lock like a strange character. So yeah. I get all the characters and strange character, but if there’s like a more even stranger one that would be cool. Now I want to talk about things and stuff. You know what things are hopefully they’re kind of similar to guilty gear a bit more emphasized because of interactions kind of like who you’re born doesn’t define you sometimes and what it’s like to be human and that’s a common theme I guess all those things but I guess it’s more emphasized here because of like the gear racism in the story and Mirville saying those things to dizzy and she was sad. So, pretty standard I guess for a girl of gear. Not like I don’t think they’ve gone too far into the gear hating before and like destroy all gears because they just haven’t. But it is like a theme that still does exist in the series so it makes sense. And now time for the fights. Some of these fights are cool and pretty interesting, but some others just not interesting cuz they’re just so fast and sometimes they’re just still frames and it’s Yeah, it’s really a mix. You would hope a fighting game anime would have some really cool awesome fights and I bet I bet they did their best and they try their hardest but sometimes your hardest just isn’t enough. There’s still frames that the like the one episode before the last episode just really wasn’t up and animation’s expensive and yeah, so I I get it. It makes sense why they had to kind of cheat out in it, but oh well. And confusing writing. There’s not much I want to say here. Just this one scene makes me mad with a flashback to the gear killing gun or whatever the thing was orator. And it either kills gears or spins it just a why for no reason or it doesn’t and it just sedates them. So what’s the point of putting too much emphasis on it if it’s the magical fix everything bullet really disappointed me that one part. I’m kind of disappointed the main conflict was just fixed with the fix everything bullet. I don’t know. There’s a lot of guns in this anime. But that’s it. The whole series is kind of just mixed. I I enjoy it a bit, but I I get why people who don’t like Guilty Gear don’t enjoy or people who don’t even like Guilty Gear for it story will enjoy it. It’s not something you’ll get too much out of for a lot of cases, unless you already really like Guilty Gear and are kind of fine with everything I just said. So, not for everyone, but if you’re a big fan, you might get something. Anyways, I just want to say that out of every Guilty Gear character, they’ve all been full. They’ve never been seen naked before, any of them. So, Bridget is the first one for some reason. Is this what the people wanted? Is this what the creator wanted? Okay, I said anyways, but I’m not done yet. Yeah, I made the script like a while ago at night. So, I just poured so much into it. Just my my thoughts when I watched the show, but it’s been like a few months since then. I don’t remember when I wrote those so I could check the date, but oh well. I maybe should I put a date on things name and date and put MLA format? Yeah, I’ll see. I started on May 11th and now No. Yeah, May 11th and now it’s July 23rd today. So, you can tell that this is kind of old script. So, I my opinions have changed a little bit. We’ll just mellow it out. So, B [Music]
