Here is what happened to Nanami in the Shibuya Incident arc:
After Nanami and the Zenin family take down Dagon, Jogo shows up at the scene soon enough and burns Nanami to a crisp in seconds. However, Nanami somehow manages to get up with the right half of his body completely burned. While Nanami is still walking, dreaming of finally retiring and getting that house in Kuantan, Malaysia, he still annihilates a swarm of transfigured humans who try to attack him and keeps walking straight until he is stopped by a hand to the chest.
Unfortunately, this hand isn’t friendly; it’s Mahito. Knowing that these are his last moments, Mahito asks Nanami if he wants to chat since they go way back. Yuji enters the room and finds them both. Nanami tells Yuji that he’s got it from here with a bright smile on his face and gets blasted into smithereens in the very next moment by Mahito.
