Japan could begin releasing treated radioactive water from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant as soon as Aug 24, according to local media reports. Cabinet ministers are expected to meet on Aug 22 to finalise the start date of the plan. Ahead of the meeting, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida met with local fishermen to win their support.
