Why Toji doesn’t Remember Megumi Jujutsu Kaisen

Toji forgot about Megumi after selling him to the Zenin Clan. When he married Megumi’s mother he became a caring family man. However, his wife’s death led him down a destructive path of gambling and exploiting women. When offered 10 million by the Zenin Clan in exchange for his son, he agreed without hesitation. Toji neglected his family and gradually forgot about them.

After defeating Geto in the Hidden Inventory arc, Toji explained how the young sorcerer had been blessed with talent. Since Toji had named his son Megumi, he remembered that Megumi means “blessing,” which Toji did consider his son to be.
