d.va is a fictional player character developed by blizzard entertainment for their 2016 first-person shooter video game overwatch, as well as related animations and literary media. she also appears as a playable character in the crossover multiplayer online battle arena (moba) game heroes of the storm and as a gameplay announcer in starcraft ii: legacy of the void. in english-language media, d.va is voiced by charlet chung. in overwatch lore, d.va is a pro-esports gamer named hana song (revised romanization: song ha-na) (송하나) from busan, south korea. within the overwatch narrative, the korean government’s mobile exo-force of the korean army (meka) recruits d.va and other gamers to help quell an uprising by robotic omnics, using their video-game-playing skills to control weaponized mech suits. within the game, d.va is a tank character who can deal a stream of damage and, for a short time, neutralize incoming attacks. if her suit is destroyed, she can eject from it and survive long enough to call in a new suit. her ultimate ability allows her to self-detonate her suit, dealing heavy enough damage to all enemies in her line of sight to eliminate most characters.
chiaki nanami is a fictional character from spike’s 2012 visual novel danganronpa 2: goodbye despair. formally known as the ultimate gamer, chiaki initially appears as an apparent high school student trapped with fifteen other student in the jabberwock island chain, where an omnipresent robotic bear named monokuma forces the student to participate in a killing game in exchange for freedom. she can bond with the protagonist hajime hinata in both social life gameplay and the main storyline before her true persona is revealed as the artificial intelligence observer daughter of chihiro fujisaki, and the younger sister of alter ego and usami / monomi. chiaki makes a cameo appearance in two episodes of the anime series danganronpa 3: the end of hope’s peak high school, with an unrelated identical character, the visual basis for her design, appearing in the prequel despair arc as a student who bonds with hajime as well as serving as unknowing instigator behind the creation of izuru kamukura and foundation of ultimate despair.
imane anys, better known as pokimane, is a canadian-moroccan twitch streamer and youtuber. she is best known for her live streams on twitch, broadcasting video game content, most notably in league of legends and fortnite. she is currently the most-followed woman channel on the platform. she is a member and co-founder of offlinetv, an online social entertainment group of content creators. anys created her twitch account in june 2013. she began streaming later that year with a $250 pc she bought off a classified website after she reached platinum rank in league of legends. the name pokimane is a portmanteau of pokémon and her name, imane. she gained 450,000 followers on twitch in 2017, earning her account a place within the 100 most followed on the platform. as a result of her account’s rise on the platform in 2017, the shorty awards named her as the best twitch streamer of the year. the shorty awards detailed that her gameplay and commentary on the popular game league of legends propelled her to popularity on twitch. anys had a cameo appearance in a league of legends trailer announcing a new game mode.
