This project centers around Mocco, a giant puppet that will head from Tohoku to Tokyo in 2021, 10 years after the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Mocco is the brainchild of children from Tohoku and was created in workshops. The puppet stands approximately 10 metres tall.

The journey that started in May from Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture traveled along the Pacific Ocean southwards to Iwanuma City, Miyagi Prefecture and Minamisoma City, Fukushima Prefecture.

Mocco finally arrived at Shinjuku Gyoen, Tokyo on July 17.

The messages received along the journey will be sent through the song “Tohoku-no-Sachi”.
